I am new to this whole writing and blogging world, even though I’ve always found it kind of curious. See the thing is, I’m not that big on expressing my thoughts out there and having people read about it and comment on them … well then again there is Facebook also. So here it goes …

As you can see I chose the picture of a sunset at the beach, why you ask? The beach is one of my all time favorite places to go. The feel of the sun on your skin, the sound of the waves and sometimes the good company of your friends make it my ideal place to go when I need to clear my mind or when I want to do something fun. Especially living on such a tropical location like the island of Puerto Rico, who wouldn’t love the beach! Now to answer another question, why the sunset? Because there were other pictures of the beach, but what caught my eye most of this one was the sun setting on the beach. I could say how beautiful that scene looks when you’re gazing out onto the horizon, how it puts you in a state of peace and makes you think about pleasant things. Also it is a pretty romantic setting, if you ask me. It’s a place and an occasion you can imagine yourself sharing with that special someone … Ahh! J Another this is that my family and I are always taking little trips to the west coast of the island, like for example, Cabo Rojo, Aguadilla, Rincon etc. I guess you could say that my love for the beach has been because of these mini vacations. I can wake up at 9am and just see myself on the beach till the sun comes down.

“As I was looking out onto that gorgeous sunset at the beach, I started thinking about how much I miss him. I had come to the beach to be at peace, not to rehash old feelings. But upon seeing that romantic setting I couldn’t help but go back in my mind to that man that stole my heart once. Even though I was enjoying myself with my family on our mini vacation and I hadn’t thought about him all day, as soon as that sun set in that water … The memories came flowing in. “

-       It’s not a full story but it could develop into one … I don’t know I just started writing and it came to me.

This picture has reminded me of the great times I have spent with friends and family at the beach till the sun came down. And it has made me want to research other locations I have not visited in this island. Go on road trips with friends and discover where other beautiful beaches might be in Puerto Rico. See if by doing a little bit more of research I could find a setting that can surpass my favorite one … Culebra!

You know what? Your story is short, but to the point. Those invading thoughts that come to you whenever you're finally happy, it's like that son of a B doesn't have anything else to do than be inside your mind. And the fact that the memories came in such a beautiful time actually makes it worse.

As for your research, I share it with you. I also wish to discover Puerto Rico like I never have before. I've actually acquired books on each town just so I can be prepared for whenever I take a tour. You know, just going to a different town each weekend, looking for the most famous and cultural spots, building your own "historical" album, sleepeing in your car if needed... THAT would be awesome.

I like the idea of visiting Puerto Rico. To become a tourist in our own island, and discover places we never knew existed. I find myself going to the same places over and over again. I guess I should branch out and explore more of this island and it's beautiful beaches.

Here is the person you thought does not exist, I dislike the beach! There, it's said. But I think this picture is beautiful and I'd like to be there. It's not crowded and the sun is already setting, it's a beautiful sight. As for your story idea I think it can turn into a very interesting one, I can think of a few twists in that plot.

Hola Alenie. I agreed with you. I loved the sunsets. I always try to bring my camera with me to take to specific moment that I like of a sunset. Like you express, the images makes us remember moments in the past because we feel good in that specific moment. The same happen with the bad situations. Keep writing about the images and the things that call your attention.
